13. Mai @ 09:00 14. Mai @ 17:00 EST

Meet us at the Central Canada Db2 Users Group and join our presentations:

  • Audit your Db2 for z/OS – Isn‘t she aDORAble!!
  • Exploit Certificates and eliminate tiresome password-pains in z/OS and USS

Session abstracts:
The Digital Operational Resilience Act came into force on the 17th January 2025. It forces any FINTECH firm that does any business with EU customers to do various audits and check various things. This act is not only EU but has a world wide impact. The requirements of DORA involve testing, securing, maintaining and performance tuning your Db2 systems on host and all your other IT systems. It has a huhge impact on all vendors as well. Futher the PSS DCI update 4.0.1 in March of this year echoed a lot of the DORA content. Thjis presentation will go through what you need to nkow and need to do to get DORA compliant as quickly as possible.

Certificates are a key technology these days for authentication, authorization and encryption. If you joined last year’s presentation “Understand, manage and love Certificates in z/OS and USS” you already know how certificates are used in z/OS and USS for secure connections. This presentation will start with a brief recap and I’ll introduce best practices for certificate lifecycle management.

I’ll also introduce you to certificate authentication, replacing login credentials with certificates. This is a great opportunity to finally eliminate the never-ending story of having to change passwords, trying to make them fit continuously increasing complexity demands and also remembering the right password that’s currently valid for a certain login. With your personal certificate you don’t even have to bother about logins anymore, while bringing your authorization to the next level. The same applies to server/services interaction – of course nobody has functional users with stale passwords anymore 😉 and certificates are one of the most reliable and secure ways for server-server authentication.

Join this presentation and you’ll not only love certificates, but also take away the terror of the never-ending password story.
